Save the Dates

I'm finally sending out our save the dates today! I am so very excited for everyone to see them. Our save the dates have been something that I have been looking forward to ever since we got engaged. They're a great idea and it's smart to send them out around four to five months before your wedding so that everyone you have on your guest list will be aware of your wedding date and mark it on their calendars! Save the dates aren't necessarily required, however they provide important information to your guests such as your wedding date, location and your wedding website (if you've made one). If you are considering making a wedding website, I would suggest using a site like weddingwire.com. This is the website I used and it was free, easy and had really cute layouts to choose from, along with a ton of other things!

Mac and I thought a lot about how we wanted our save the dates to look. We looked over many different examples and found it hard to choose from them. We knew we wanted our picture on it and we didn't want it as formal as our invitation will be. We finally decided when I showed Mac an example I found of one and we both loved it. It's different from the ordinary "portrait style" pose, which is great because we didn't want it to be the same as every other save the date you see with the couple's picture on it. The picture required a prop, so we picked up a few supplies and Mac made it for us. In the end, the picture and layout turned out exactly how we wanted it and we couldn't be any happier with it!

Here's a look at the picture we chose for our save the dates!

I wish I could share with you our actual save the date with the wording and layout, but my computer is being crazy and won't let me upload anything. So this is the next best thing.

Thanks to Three Little Birds Inc. for designing our save the date and a BIG thank you to Duane Cochran  at Duane Cochran Photography for capturing and editing the picture we used!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Here's what I'm loving today!

I'm loving that our wedding is now less than 5 months away and I'm getting to work with some wonderful people throughout all the planning!

I'm loving this Infinity Ring. It's so pretty and it also reminds me of the TV show, Revenge.

I'm loving this product! Since I wash my hands all the time and it's also getting colder here and my hands are constantly dry, I picked this up at the store and thought I'd give it a try. I've been putting it on my hands at night before I go to sleep and I wake up with super soft skin! It's amazing!

I'm loving the color, Olive Green, on these different types of clothing and accessories!

I'm loving these thigh high boots!

I'm loving all my other Pinterest finds this week!

I'm loving my fiance, Mac!

My Christmas List

My family and Mac have all started asking me what I want for Christmas this year. It's now less than a month away so I figured I should go ahead and make a list. I never can decide on what I want and it seems like every time I go shopping or just look at stores online I feel like what I want changes. However, there are a few things that I just have to have that have a permanent place on my list!

Here's what's on my Christmas list this year:

Rose Gold Boyfriend Watch by Fossil

Wayfarer Sunglasses by RayBan

The North Face Jacket

JPK Handbag

Satin Wrap Skirt from Old Navy

Glamour Purse by Essie

Brooch The Subject by Essie

Boot Socks or Leg Warmers

There are a few other items that I'm still trying to decide upon, but for the most part, this is it! I've felt kind of bad for even asking for these things since my parents are helping out so much with the wedding, so I'll honestly be happy with anything!

Thanksgiving Recap and Black Friday

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I spent mine back home with my family and had a wonderful time. It's always great to be able to go back and spend time with the ones I love most! Mac and I were able to eat lunch with his family and then we ate supper with mine. I'm so thankful for my wonderful family and friends and my amazing fiance!

Even though it's no longer Thanksgiving day, I still want to share a few things I am thankful for!

I'm thankful for my family! These pictures were taken at our engagement party:

Mac and I with my Mom.

Mac and I with my Dad and Stepmother.

I'm thankful for my job and and all the great opportunities I've had!

I'm thankful for my two cats, Champ and Pippa. They're seriously like my children!

I'm thankful that I will be married to the most wonderful guy in almost 5 months!

After standing in line at Target at 3:30am last year, I told myself that was my first and last Black Friday experience. Well, this year, I decided I'd give it another try, on a much smaller level. I only had one thing in mind that I wanted and luckily it was at a Dick's Sporting Goods store that was very calm and not busy at all. It's actually a Christmas present to myself from my Dad (he had to work today and asked me to pick my present up for him haha.)

This is my Black Friday purchase and I absolutely love it!:

How was your Black Friday shopping experience this year?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving that tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I'm traveling back home for a few days to spend some time with my family and friends. I'm so excited to see them and can't wait for the amazing food!

I'm loving my new nail polish! It's called Chinchilly by Essie. It's a great color for fall and matches almost anything!

I'm loving these Wayfarer sunglasses by RayBan! I have been obsessing over these for months and love the look of them! They are definitely on my Christmas list this year!

I'm loving that Mac and I are picking up our Save the Dates today from Three Little Birds. They look amazing! I can't wait to share them with you!

I'm loving boot socks! I love this style and I find myself wearing them all the time!

I'm loving these pins on Pinterest.

Wedding Cake

Lately, it seems like my life is revolving around planning for our wedding next April. I spend countless hours obsessing over things like table centerpieces, flower colors, and songs to dance to. Don't get me wrong, I have truly enjoyed our planning and it has been so much fun, but it is a lot of work especially for someone like me who wants everything perfect!
Something that has been on my mind a lot lately is my wedding cake. I know I want the flavor to be Red Velvet with cream cheese filling, but I'm still undecided on the design of the cake. We recently found a baker who is perfect for us! She works out of her home and her style is exactly what we were looking for. We have a few ideas of what types of cakes we like and I wanted to share them with you!

This is a classic cake that is simple, yet elegant. I love the idea of flowers as the topper. We know that we want a round four tier cake, but this may be a little to plain for us.

This cake is so beautiful! We want our cake to look classy and not have too much going on. The ribbon on this adds a little something of color to complete the look. A brooch would look great on the center of the ribbon also!

I absolutely love the details on this cake! The champagne colored fondant with gold and ivory accents looks amazing! If I decide to have a cake in anything other than white, this would definitely be the color.

And so it all begins!

Recently, I've become addicted to blogs and love the idea of having my own! My good friend told me about hers a while back and it sparked my interest. My goal for this blog is to share my everyday life as a recent graduate, daughter, sister, amateur cook (I'm trying), friend, and bride-to-be! I hope to share my thoughts and ideas on fashion, everything girly, recipes, life after college, and so much more!

I was born and raised in North Carolina and love it here in the south! I recently graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene and currently work at a wonderful dental office. I have the most amazing friends and family ever and I'm thankful I'm frequently able to visit them back home! I love them all so much. I have two cats, Champ and Pippa, both of whom have a special place in my heart. I have been dating the most wonderful guy, for almost five years and in March, he asked me to marry him! Being engaged has been one of the most exciting times of our lives and we've had so much fun planning for our wedding in April of 2012. I love traveling, running, learning to cook, anything fashion related, reading, and shopping (maybe a little too much). I hope that through my blog, you will get to know me even better!

This is a picture of me and my fiance, Mac, during our engagement photo session!

I'm so very excited to start my new experience with my blog and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I will! I'm super new to this, so I would love any advice or suggestions that you all may have!
