I'm finally sending out our save the dates today! I am so very excited for everyone to see them. Our save the dates have been something that I have been looking forward to ever since we got engaged. They're a great idea and it's smart to send them out around four to five months before your wedding so that everyone you have on your guest list will be aware of your wedding date and mark it on their calendars! Save the dates aren't necessarily required, however they provide important information to your guests such as your wedding date, location and your wedding website (if you've made one). If you are considering making a wedding website, I would suggest using a site like weddingwire.com. This is the website I used and it was free, easy and had really cute layouts to choose from, along with a ton of other things!
Mac and I thought a lot about how we wanted our save the dates to look. We looked over many different examples and found it hard to choose from them. We knew we wanted our picture on it and we didn't want it as formal as our invitation will be. We finally decided when I showed Mac an example I found of one and we both loved it. It's different from the ordinary "portrait style" pose, which is great because we didn't want it to be the same as every other save the date you see with the couple's picture on it. The picture required a prop, so we picked up a few supplies and Mac made it for us. In the end, the picture and layout turned out exactly how we wanted it and we couldn't be any happier with it!
Here's a look at the picture we chose for our save the dates!
I wish I could share with you our actual save the date with the wording and layout, but my computer is being crazy and won't let me upload anything. So this is the next best thing.
Thanks to Three Little Birds Inc. for designing our save the date and a BIG thank you to Duane Cochran at Duane Cochran Photography for capturing and editing the picture we used!
